Welcome to the home of LGBTQ+ sports

Rally

Rally is a brand new social app built by and for the LGBTQIA+ community.

Our goal is to amplify the work of local queer sports teams, businesses and individual
and help to foster a healthy, safe space for everyone in our community
to practise sports and fitness.

We would like to invite you to join us
as founder members on the platform

How does Rally work?

  • Explore

Rally shows you everything going on in your area, including local sports teams and local people. You can suggest a plan to other Rally users, or join in with the other suggested plans. You can also discover other teams from our international community, and get to know LGBTQ+ heroes.

  • Profile

Tell the world who you are, how you identify, what sports you play and which teams you follow. And chat with other users to make plans and play sports together.

  • Team Profile

When you setup your team profile, you can add information about what sports you do, which demographics the team is suitable for, photos, links and contact information so users can find you online!

  • Events

You can set up events so that local users can see what is going on. These can be recurring events, or one-off and you can link directly to your website for ticket buying.

Rally is available NOW

What’s the plan for the future?

This is just the beginning of Rally’s journey. We have lots of exciting plans for the future which will enable us to build the biggest international community of LGBTQ+ sports and fitness fans.

Feb 2023

Group chats for teams and events means you can chat with other members together, discuss event plans and share photos after the events.

April 2023

Teams will be able to join together into leagues, create multi-team events, and join umbrella organisations to help forge stronger international connections

June 2023

Membership management will allow teams to create private events and chats specifically for their paying members

Summer 2023

Launch the Android app!

Why join Rally now?

Rally is still in its early days and we are planning big changes over the coming months. However, we are asking for the LGBTQ+ community to join us now to help build the foundation of a international social network.

By joining now you will be helping us to obtain corporate sponsorship to drive the development of the platform. We have made a commitment that the LGBTQ+ community itself will not pay for this development, and so we are reliant on sponsorship, advertising or venture capital funding to achieve this. We are much more likely to achieve this if we have a large base of users already on the app.

We also need your help in guiding us as we make decisions about the direction of the app. Which features do you like the most? What should we build next for you? How can we make this the most fun, and useful platform for you - our users.

“This is the beginning of something really big - I can feel it in my bones! A safe, wholesome, inclusive social network for every single member of our LGBTQ+ community. And I would love to have you join us!”

— Duncan Campbell, Founder

FAQs

You probably have a bunch of questions, so here are some of the most common we get asked. And for anything else, just drop us a line: duncan@rally.lgbt

What can Rally do for my team?

Right now, we are here to promote your work to the local community. That means you can post info, links, photos and events (individual or recurring), and anyone that is interested can link through to your website, instagram or wherever you want.

And what about in the future?

Our goal is to make LGBTQ+ sports even more accessible to everyone in our community, so that means listening to the needs you and your team has, and building them into the app. Maybe those are membership features, community-building features, or just promotion and marketing. But we’ll work that out as we grow, based on your needs.

How much does it cost to appear on Rally?

Nothing. We have built Rally to support and amplify the work of the LGBTQ+ sports community. It would not make sense for us to ask our users or or teams to pay be on the app. Our goal is to entirely fund this platform from sponsorship from brands who are LGBTQ+ allies, and we commit to put back into the community as much as we can.

Who can use the Rally app?

Rally is open to everybody - whether you identify as a member of the LGBTQ+ community or are a straight ally. Our focus is on creating an accessible and inclusive space for members of our community and their their friends to practise sports.

Which teams can join Rally?

Whilst we launch Rally, we are only allowing teams, businesses and professionals who directly target the LGBTQ+ community to apply. This may change later, but for now we ask that you have a visible, direct reference to the LGBTQ+ community, inclusion or diversity on your website or social media accounts.

What kinds of teams are allowed to apply?

We are looking for teams, businesses and professionals that are focussed on sports, physical activity, and fitness. Whether you are a rugby team, a local gym, a HIIT workout crew, a personal trainer, bowling club, cycling group, football supporters group, mountain guide, sports umbrella organisation, whatever… we want to hear from you.

What is Rally’s inclusion policy for marginalised members of the community?

You are free to specify exactly who your teams is targetted at - whether that is everybody (regardless of their age, physical ability, sexual orientation, religion, race or gender) or specifically for a subset of our community (for example teams for BIPOC, only women+, older members of the community etc.). We fully support positive discrimination to provide safe spaces marginalised members of our community, however we will not support teams or events which negatively discriminate (i.e. excluding trans and non-binary people or excluding people because of their religion or race).

How will Rally protect the community from people who do not match its core value?

Rally has a reporting mechanism which means any content (users, teams, events, photos, comments, message) can be reported to us, and specific users and teams can be blocked by any user. We will investigate all reports, and automatically and permanently block any users which have actively gone against our core principals.
